we don't

we don't kiss
but i miss your kisses

we don't hug
but i miss your warmth

we don't seem to see
eye to eye
we don't seem to give
any reason why
we're always saying
hello goodbye

we aren't like lovers
it's true

but i still miss the heart of you

  1. The beauty of this poem is touching the heart, the mind, and the soul; yours, and your audience. Each couplet expresses emotion, the whole echoes a silent cry expressly withheld. A song of strength through sadness . . . .a difficult concept to grasp, yet here lovingly revealed. For me, this is your poetry - the why and wherefore of your art.

The photo is lovely and familiar; not quite s nice as the one I first saw. I knew you owned a red beret. :) Did your region get any snow for Christmas? The weather radar indicated that you may have. I sometimes miss the magic of snowflakes around Christmas. Again, congratulations on 'we don't'
